Care
Potting mix
Monstera cuttings potted in eight different 1:1:1 mixes grew alike over 58 days (stem 29–38 cm), although the salt level of the mixes ranged from about 200 to 3,300 ppm.

Feeding
Monstera planted out in sandy soil under 63 % shade and fed nitrogen as ammonium sulphate made leaves of 650–750 cm² (length × width) against 430–450 cm² unfed over two seasons; nitrogen given as compost gave 480–500 cm².
A Measured directlyMeasured on this species
Propagation
Monstera stem pieces (rhizome sections) planted in soil, manure and rice husk (1:1:1) sprouted far more often than in soil, manure and sand (62 % against 26 %) and survived better (68 % against 47 %).
