Care

Potting mix

  • In trials on two Philodendron species, cuttings in coco coir grew roots about as long as in the longest-rooting mixes (25–28 cm), while cuttings in pure sand or pure perlite made the shortest roots or leaves.

Propagation

  • In a winter glasshouse, keeping the rooting medium at 24 °C or warmer raised the rooting grade of heart-leaf philodendron cuttings after 7 weeks from 2.1 to 2.8 on a 1–4 scale.
